The UK based Tesco is presented in 10 countries all over the world including Ireland and Thailand. Tesco operates in Hungary since 1995 and its head office is located in Budaörs. The company has built the country’s biggest retail chain by running more than 200 stores all over Hungary. More than 800 colleagues work together in our head office in Budaörs. We cooperate in 4 countries structure with the Polish, Czech and Slovakian teams on a daily basis to offer the best to our customers.

Roles and responsibilities

  • managing in country DC Quality Control and OPS teams
  • ensuring QC teams allow only receiving of the FF goods that comply with company specifications
  • leading the appropriate legal, Food safety and store standards policies in country
  • liaising with external organizations to improve our trading environment, legislation, etc.
  • providing expert advice and direction to the business on complex commercial and operational issues
  • managing 3rd party suppliers of services (e.g. stores auditing)
  • resolving issues with state enforcement bodies
  • management of the emergency product withdrawals in OPS team
  • monitoring and implementation of new legislation related to Food safety
  • visiting stores and distribution centers to identify opportunities or risks in Food safety
  • reviewing performance data and reports related to Food safety and enforcement challenges
  • liaising with other departments in order to deliver Food safety agenda and limit the risks for the company
  • management of the process of customer complaints related to food safety
  • managing the recycling fees and environmental fees agenda for all company
  • management of the store audits, set up corrective action plans on stores audits results
  • leading the DC QC managers
  • product withdrawals: management of product withdrawal process within the business
  • analysis and implementation of the new legislation in area of food
  • reporting: regular reporting system to inform the management about all relevant issues
  • developing effective working relationships primary with the state authorities in the area of food safety
  • support and advising to stores in the event of operational problems, customer complaints, complaints to wrong quality of products, technical problems etc.

You will be great in this role if you have

  • At least 5 years professional experience
  • Fluent English language
  • University degree (in the area of food)
  • Knowledge / experience of store operations is a plus
  • Knowledge of food legislation
  • Customer focused attitude
  • Flexible approach
