The UK based Tesco is presented in 10 countries all over the world including Ireland and Thailand. Tesco operates in Hungary since 1995 and its head office is located in Budaörs. The company has built the country’s biggest retail chain by running more than 200 stores all over Hungary. More than 800 colleagues work together in our head office in Budaörs. We cooperate in 4 countries structure with the Polish, Czech and Slovakian teams on a daily basis to offer the best to our customers.

Roles and responsibilities

  • In close co-operation with the Lead manager implement the Compliance programme of Tesco CE, focusing primarily on anti-bribery and prevention of corruption, the issues of receiving gifts and conflict of interest. Supporting colleagues in the implementation of other Compliance programmes including privacy and competition.
  • Increasing the awareness of colleagues across the business about our internal regulations and ethical values. Organization and provision of training, workshops or communication campaigns.
  • Preparing and managing e-learnings and implementing a process that will allow effective monitoring and ensure a high level of completion rate of e-learnings.
  • Managing and improving the Whistleblowing process, monitoring and investigating cases in close collaboration with Loss Prevention and Security teams.
  • Managing and improvement of the Due Diligence process.
  • Preparing the CE Risk & Compliance Committee, including the organization and preparation of supporting documents, especially regular key compliance data reports.
  • By engaging key stakeholders, leading employees and managers be the driving force of important corporate culture changes.

You will be great in this role if you have

  • Min. 2 years of experience as a Company lawyer, Compliance officer resp. other similar qualifications or experience working on the implementation, management or control of compliance programs, including external and internal audit.
  • Strong MS Office knowledge – especially Excel, Word & PowerPoint
  • Excellent analytical and organizational skills and ability to meet key deadlines.
  • Work collaboratively across the business to positively influence stakeholders.
  • Fluent verbal and very strong written English and excellent knowledge of at least one CE language (Czech, Slovak, Hungarian or Polish) is a must.
  • Work independently and collaboratively in a collegial, fast-paced team environment and being comfortable carrying a varied workload, which may require travel as well.
